Detaching From the World

Detaching From the World

This world is not our home. I have said and written this a LOT lately but we, as believers in Jesus Christ, need to be reminded of this as we see our nation crumbling under the Leftist agenda. We used to be able to watch a television program without leftist propaganda in it and abominations being pushed down our throats. We used to be able to watch sports without any politics or agenda being pushed upon us. We used to be able to go to church without feminism being clearly seen overtaking the churches. Our schools used to teach reading, writing, and arithmetic to the children. Now, everything is different.

Here are a few writings from others that I am going to share with you:

“If you are able to celebrate Kamala’s position due to her gender or ethnicity while overlooking her full endorsement of baby murder, you have a MASSIVE idol that’s blocking your ability to see straight. Repent.” (Emily Thomes)

“Sad day for women’s sports. Women must compete against biological males at the risk of injury and loss of title, thanks to a new Biden executive order. Don’t ever tell me this is ‘pro-woman.’ It’s not. It’s destructive and malicious.” (Erielle Davidson)

The new president has overturned everything President Trump did to try to stop abortion, and Beth Moore, a false teacher, is cheering this new administration on. Learn to be discerning who you are learning from, women! Stop listening to female preachers. Learn truth instead.

“I honestly feel like I can’t enjoy anything any more – books, movies, television, REAL LIFE. I can’t switch off and unplug because it seems EVERYTHING is saturated with leftist propaganda.” (Sydney Watson)

“This is how I have felt for four years. The Leftist propaganda is everywhere. I have no desire to watch anything. All the shows I was watching years ago, I stopped. Haven’t watched a movie in a very long time. Didn’t care about football this year. I have no desire to consume anything this world produces anymore. Even on the rare chance you find something remotely enjoyable, the commercials are all a virtue signaling echo chamber. To hell with it.” (Rett Copple)

“All the political posturing on vaccines is truly disgusting. The fact remains that ANY vaccine available today involves using murdered children before they could even be born. I renew my pledge…I will not extend my life by USING murdered children. This is evil. WAKE UP!” (Bishop J. Strickland)

“Get married. Have kids. Buy guns. Buy books. Buy land. Turn off the TV. This is the way.” (Matt Walsh)

America’s prosperity made us comfortable here. Now, we are no longer comfortable. We can relate with Lot. “For that righteous man living among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed [afflicted] his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds” (2 Peter 2:8).

So how do we then live in this wicked world? We cling to Jesus and His Word. Women, stop being lied to by the feminist propaganda machine. Come home! Your children NEED you more than any job in the workforce. Be a godly help meet to your husband. Bear, nurse, and raise godly offspring. Homeschool them, so they may be saturated with Truth. They will then grow up to be wise, discerning adults and clearly know what is good and what is wicked. Protect them from Satan whose goal is to kill, steal, and destroy. Ponder getting rid of the TV and don’t give them cell phones! Teach them the harm of pornography and the beauty of virginity and living lives according to God’s will. Dwell on the lovely, true, pure, just, honest, and anything of good report (Philippians 4:8). Obey God! In this way, you will be salt and light to a wicked generation.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

  1. This article screams to my soul. While we couldn’t have children my heart aches for those who are raising them in such evil times. I’ve been detaching from the world quite a while.
Thank you for this affirming truth!

  2. I also like what you say about the fact that there will always be a remnant. We are the remnant. We can still be the salt and the light. It can be hard to feel optimistic. Do you ever notice that the left is “pro-choice” if we choose what they want? That they are “open-minded” only when we agree with them? Yet they complain about hypocrisy. Enjoy your family this weekend, Lori. I hope you are feeling well.

  3. Maybe in the wake of what’s been and what’s to come this might be only a small blessing, but I want to mention it anyway. There is still kindness in the world, and I choose to be consoled by that fact. Even with the wickedness and evil, the people who tell horrible lies, there are also many people who believe in helping their neighbors. When the hurricane hit my state we all banded together to lend generators to those that did not have one so that their food would not spoil. Younger neighbors cleaned debris for older ones. Good and kindness triumph in the face of disaster and maybe we’ll see that in the face of this disaster as well.

  4. It was always there just more subtle. Watch 80s tv…very subtle but very there…Even Katherine Hepburns’s embrace of male androgeny

  5. Oh my what a great post. I am very sad with the state of our nation, but I truly believe that God is my King and I hold tightly to this concept. I pray daily for our president even though he wasn’t my choice. I pray for our country! Bless you and your posts I agree with everything you post. Have a wonderful 2021. Mrs. Roger Allen

  6. The only advantage of all the filth, the lies, and the insanity of this time is, it shows me so clearly the force of Satan in this world, always striving and shrill and destroying self and community, while at the same time I see and feel the warm, infinitely powerful hand of God ready to hold me safe.

I am only recent to faith in the Lord, I was a cynical atheist most of my life, but now I can’t deny what I see so brilliantly with my own eyes.

  7. You touch on another point that my husband and I keep saying is vital to surviving the end times: BE NEIGHBORLY! When things get tough, working together with, sharing with, looking out for one another in your own little neighborhood is going to be so important. Start now developing those relationships. Who knows? Maybe your neighborhood will also have spiritual revival through your influence.

  8. The ultimate truth is that no human can truly harm us, only our own sins. The worst a human can do is kill us, and we were going to die anyways, and if we are righteous, we are going to a place far better than we have ever known.

The beautiful final sentiments of the drunkard Sydney Carton in Dickens immortal “ A Tale of Two Cities”, still ring true. After a lifetime of dissolution, animated by his love of Lucy Manette, he selflessly lays down his life to deliver her husband and Carton’s romantic rival, Charles Darnay, from the cruel guillotine of the French Revolution (The same Talmudic Jewish bankers behind the terror of the French Revolution, have controlled America’s Democrat party since 1912, when they got Wilson elected President, and took control of America’s money the next year, 1913, when they instituted the income tax, direct election of senators (allowing them to use their control of the media to directly control the public and the senate, eliminating the state legislatures power), and Federal Reserve). He said, “It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”

Life is 90% how we respond to it, 10% what happens to us. Trials are simply tests of our faith in God. Who is bigger, the Creator of the universe, or Satan and his legions of minions? Are we ruled by faith, love, and hope, or dominated by fear, doubt, and unbelief?

Our greatest enemies are in ourselves and in America, and George Washington had a great speech to his troops on the attitude to have towards a cruel and unrelenting enemy.

  9. Dear Lori,

I hope you are well and recovering from your treatment. I wanted to ask whether perhaps you could write more on a topic you have touched upon before. I don’t have a naturally quiet spirit and have to work so hard to be quiet, listening and meek. Sometimes I want to debate or have my own way for no good reason or I just feel contrary. It’s not nice. I think I manage ok most of the time to be more as I strive to be, but it sure doesn’t come naturally! I know that you’ve written before that to some women have more feminine and meek spirits (golden retrievers) and that you have struggled in your life perhaps similarly to myself. I wish I wasn’t so opinionated sometimes. I would love to hear your thoughts about how to become more contented and less challenging. I do try every day but sometimes it is hard.

  10. While I agree in part, I have to give a rebuttal to the woman’s call to denounce women teachers. Be discriminating to every teacher of the gospel—male and female. But just so you know, the Samaritan Woman at the Well and Mary Magdalene were among the first “evangelists” to share the gospel…and to a male audience, no less. A good number of the most prominent evangelists—including Billy Graham and his peers, were taught by Bible Teacher Henrietta Mears at her Forest Home training center. The two largest Bible Study Programs in the US and abroad—Bible Study Fellowship and Precept Bible Studies were both written by women. A number of women have gone into difficult access countries as missionaries or to translate the Bible into the language of indigenous unreached peoples. God called, funded, protected, and blessed the work of their hands. Whether by mouth or by their writings, we learn from these women. Be careful about damning the ministry of someone because God used them without following your understanding of Scripture. Before the Lord each servant stands or falls. Apart from false teaching, we aren’t the judge. The woman you quoted is treading on dangerous ground.

  11. Not related to your post at all but in case you haven’t come across her new blog yet Laine, of Laine’s Letters, is posting again at
    thebluebirdsarenestingonthefarm.blogspot.com.
I know you and many of your readers have enjoyed her letters in the past.

  12. Women preachers, ugh! My co-worker was going on about Pastor Liz. Politely, had said, “but that’s not Biblical!” She replied, “but our church…” i didn’t argue, just went back to my desk.

  13. Thank you Lori, I’ve gone back over those posts and comments and it’s so encouraging to to read. So kind of you to take the time.

  14. It’s women preachers that women must detach themselves from since women are never called to be preachers. The Samaritan woman and Mary weren’t preachers. The church wasn’t even set up when these things happened. No man should be learning Bible from a woman, period. God’s Word is clear about this and the problem with BSF and Precept is they don’t teach women what God specifically commands older women to teach young women. I have a problem with this.

  15. On the above website, Laine did not post those letters. The above website belongs to a lady named Annabel who posted the letters there.

  16. It’s a wonderful and very encouraging blog. The addition of Laine’s letters make it a double bonus! I have learned so much about being a better wife and woman from it.

  17. Thank you for sharing all of your wisdom Lori! I have learned so much from you and Gods word about being a help meet and homemaker. I do have a question about BSF. I have been doing it for a few years and really love it. However, I never looked at it from women teaching me, until now. What are your thoughts, is it something not to be involved in?

  18. This is true, and yet, many neighbors have all bought into the leftist propaganda and world ways. While we can be kind, we still have to watch how much you socialize or allow your children to, because they are then being influenced by the lifestyle.

It’s wonderful when neighbors help neighbors, but there is that line, that is sometimes very difficult to figure out how to be neighborly without compromising or allowing ourselves or children to be influenced.

  19. Hi Brittne,

I am not a huge fan of BSF since it’s women teaching the Bible but not teaching what older women are commanded to teach young women. This is troublesome to me. All these women are becoming theologians without knowing anything about biblical womanhood. I attended for a year. I went to many bible studies and women’s conferences but then would come home and being a contentious wife. Something is wrong with this picture. I know of a few BSF leaders who were terrible wives to their husbands.
