Not Liking Being Called the Weaker Vessel

The role of being a perfectly fit helper does not make one inferior to the leader.

I only learned this when I humbled my heart enough for the Lord to teach me and give me the wisdom I needed to break free of feminism upon my mind. Paul’s writings in the New Testament bothered me, especially being called the “weaker vessel” in 1 Peter 3:7. I didn’t feel I was needed in this role or fulfilling my potential as a woman of God. So I marked off these teachings as not being inspired by God… Yet I knew I was missing something and continued to read my Bible…
The Lord fell on my spirit when I read…
1 Corinthians 12:22 ~ “Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.”
Which God made me recall the chapter before…
1 Corinthians 11:3 ~ “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”
Instant conviction that I hadn’t been doing my role as I should have been. 1 Corinthians 12 isn’t talking about marriage but rather the church body… Nonetheless it convicted me to stop coveting a man’s role in the disguise of “equality.” I needed to accept that I am a weaker vessel… More feeble… Despite being weaker/feeble… I was still necessary and had a God-given role to fulfill.
No longer allowing fear, vulnerability, lies, independence, rebellion, excuses, pride, victimization, etc. to blind me and block my relationship with the Lord… I had to have faith that Abba knows best.
Proverbs 31, 1 Corinthians 11, 1 Corinthians 14:33-35, Ephesians 5:20-24, 1 Timothy 2:9-15, Titus 2:3-5, 1 Peter 3:1-7. Read these verses and if your spirit is bothered/annoyed by these verses than ask God for wisdom. Ask Him to teach you. Humble yourself to be willing to learn the Lord’s Will for your life. He will answer you as He answered me.

The ego really doesn’t want to be called “weaker” and feminism really feeds into this by saying that women are equal to men. Women are not equal to men in many things. They have different God-given strengths and abilities. Not everyone can be the best at everything. Everyone has a role to play and there are people who play a valuable supporting role. Instead of feeling bad about it, women can embrace this and be the best wives and mothers they can be.
Beautiful. Well written and inspiring. This comes down to forsaking conformity to the language and definitions of the world, and embracing conformity to His language.
The only exception I take in her words are “The role of being a perfectly fit helper does not make one inferior to the leader.” Sure it does. I am inferior to Christ. He is superior to me. We need to get comfortable with that word and the precept behind it. It simply means I do what Christ wishes me to do each time He asks, without question …just like Christ said the greatest demonstration of faith He had seen was the Centurion defining faith as “I say go, and he goes.” The inferior understand who the superior is and immediately says “Yes, Lord/lord.”
We are too sensitive …we are too “effeminate” …too soft, and that is bad company as noted in 1 Cor 6:9. Yes, marriage is militaristic before it is warm and comfy. Get over it. Learn His language. Christ confronts us with His commands before He bestows His peace and rest upon us. Both are necessary, both are His love. There is a regime, but it is all beautiful …and a beauty that the world cannot give. We need to stop ‘protecting’ women from the seeming harshness of His Word, from the truth of His word, from the confrontation of His word, or else they will not see him.
