Remind Yourself Who You are IN CHRIST!

Remind Yourself Who You are IN CHRIST!

Most of us women struggle with allowing other people’s words to easily offend us, fall into pity parties, and allow our emotions and feelings to get the best of us, instead of the truth of God’s Word. Whenever we feel like falling into a pity party, we must remind ourselves of who we are IN CHRIST!

Every single day, I have to take hydro-cortisone pills in order to live. My pituitary isn’t functioning properly because of my brain tumor so I need cortisone to survive. I can’t bring the pills home from the pharmacy and put them in the cupboard. They can do nothing for me while they stay in the bottle on the shelf. They won’t help me if I put the pill on top of my head or stand on it. I actually have to take the pill into my mouth and swallow it for it to help me live.

In order to fly across the country, you must get into an airplane to get from one place to another. You can’t admire a plane, think about it, feel good about it, or anything else but you must get into the plane in order to get from point A to point B.

In the same way, we can’t get to heaven without being IN CHRIST. Our works won’t save us. No, we need to take the Gos-pill! We need to believe in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross who paid the penalty for our sin and His resurrection and triumph over the grave in order to have eternal life. Women, God calls us to be good in Titus 2:5. We can only be good IN CHRIST.

We can’t simply think about how wonderful He was for dying and rising from the dead. No, we must believe in Jesus Christ to be saved. When we believe, we are IN CHRIST and saved from eternal damnation. We become new creatures in Christ. We are freed from and dead to sin. We are redeemed, forgiven, loved, accepted, declared righteous, adopted, created to do good works, blessed with every spiritual blessings, and given an abundant life. Once we take the Gos-pill for our own, we are IN CHRIST! Oh, what a Savior.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9

  1. A Huge AMEN!
Our identity is in Christ and it doesn’t change, no matter what others say or think, or even what we say or think!

  2. All of us who follow the Lord Jesus could certainly use being reminded of that daily! Thank you for that encouragement!

  3. I have found your blog a little while ago and have been enjoying the encouragement..thank you?
I am not one to usually comment on post.. however, when I saw this I could not in good conscience pass up the opportunity to share with you.
The passage in Romans, which is a wonderful truth, is said to the church at Rome, not to non Christians. The apostle Paul’s letter is to the church at Rome.
We are told how to get into Christ. “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot Enter into the kingdom of God….”
In Acts 2 starting with verse 37 the Word say “ when the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
What did Peter say? I ask you all? Did he tell them to say a prayer to ask Jesus in their heart? As you will read from the word, NO he did not! Let’s read what Peter told them.
“Peter replied, “ Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
When we are baptized, we are burried with Christ into his death and are risen with HIM to walk in newness of life.
I’d rather believe God’s words over men’s words.
Some people will mention the thief on the cross. But I want to remind you that the thief knew about the kingdom. The thief said, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
He may have had John’s baptism. To say he did not is to say something the Word does not say.
Also, Jesus hadn’t died yet. Because Jesus hadn’t died they were still under the old Covenent, under the law. The New Covenant had not been inaugurated . In God’s word it says, “And for this reason He is the Mediator of the New Covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first Covenant , that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where there is a testament , there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.”
    Hebrews 9:15-17
The thief was under the the old covenant before the death of Christ, we on the other hand, are under the New Covenant.
I hope that you and others will find this helpful.

  4. I believe baptism is VERY important BUT it isn’t required for salvation.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31)

It was Christ’s death and resurrection that has made us new creatures in Christ, not our baptism which is an outward sign of being born again.
