Warnings Against the Feminization of America

Warnings Against the Feminization of America

Women proclaim that people had to fight and die for women to have the right to vote as if this were a God-ordained right. This isn’t true. There was never any civil war over this issue nor is it a God-ordained right. Women “fought” (meaning they left their homes, raised their voices, and shouted for their “rights”) for the right to vote since they felt they knew better than men. They didn’t trust men to lead them in the right way. They wanted to be leaders and run things.

In 1920, this poster was made by the Southern’s Women’s League For Rejection of the Susan B. Anthony Amendment against the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Remember, this poster was being spread around by women who opposed the right for women to vote and they sure did have wise insight into the catastrophe that would ensue.

“A vote for federal suffrage is a vote for organized female nagging forever. American pep, which was the result of a masculine dominated country, will soon be a thing of the past. With the collapse of the male ascendancy in this country, we can look forward to a nation of degeneration…The effect of the social revolution on American character will be to make ‘sissies’ of American men – a process already under way. Women Suffrage denatures both men and women; it masculinizes women and feminizes men. The history of ancient civilization has proven that a weakening of the man power of nations has been but a pre-runner of decadence in civilization.”

Elaine Weiss, author of The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win The Vote, wrote, “‘But it also goes deeper than that, because these anti-suffrage women are saying the vote is going to disturb the American home. It’s going to alter gender roles in a way that is disruptive and unhealthy,’ Weiss explains. ‘It’s going to make women compete with men—the anti-suffragists argue there will be more divorces because husbands and wives will argue about which candidates to vote for—but even deeper, it unsettles the idea of what the family is.'”

This is exactly what has happened. The family is no longer clearly defined as roles have become blurred. Ask yourself, have women stopped nagging and wanting their way since they achieved the right to vote? NO! In fact, I saw a poster recently that Iceland has complete gender equality but I am sure it hasn’t made women any happier and less complaining. Women are louder and more demanding (example: the Women’s March) than ever before even though they have more rights than ever. It’s a deep pit that is never satisfied. The further women go away from God’s calling on their lives, the unhappier and more discontent they become. God is their Creator yet they outright reject His will for them.

Let’s look back at the beginning of time and see who God created to be the leaders. The first human begin He created was Adam, a man, and he was to be the leader. He named all of the animals. Then God created Eve to be Adam’s help meet to support Adam in his work, not to usurp it.

Then God chose men to be the leaders as priests, kings, prophets, patriarchs, apostles, elders, deacons, and husbands. It seems clear to me that God made men to be the leaders. Jesus could have easily chosen a female disciple but He did not.

What are my thoughts on women voting? I have been asked this frequently. I am not a fan at all. Women overwhelmingly vote Democrat. They vote for big government to take care of them which means higher taxes and more laws and regulations which means less freedoms. They vote for free health care and abortions. They vote for leftist policies which are highly destructive to the family and culture. Socialism hasn’t worked any where that it has been tried.

Do I vote? Yes, I vote to support my husband’s vote and try to overturn a vote that is against all I believe in. I encourage conservative, Christian women to vote for life-affirming principles, smaller government, and more freedoms. I know that voting or not voting is not a sin in any way and each vote is not that meaningful. I am saddened by what our country has become. The Southern Women’s League was right in trying to prevent the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Men are becoming more feminine and women are becoming more masculine. What good can possibly come from this? Men were created to lead. Women were not.

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Isaiah 3:12

  1. We need stron men to lead us and protect and provide for us! Wimpy feminized men cannot do such as they are fragile and buckle under the strain of being the rock of the family. Their weakness and vulnerability provides zero foundation for the family and society too as who will defend our country and our communities if needed? Our society is plagued by the lack of father figures and strong male role models for both boys and girls to learn from. The “sensitive” man loved by the domineering radical feminist is merely a naive childish fantasy for what kind of man is suitable!

  2. Thank you for this post today, Lori. I agree completely. I, too, have heard women speak of foremothers who fought and died for women to have the “right” to vote. However, they never seem to be able to name one specific person who fought and died. The bloated government we have today, over-budget and in deep debt, is a direct result of woman’s suffrage. Honestly, I wish it had never been granted. It was just another way of undermining the headship of husbands/fathers in the home, contrary to God’s will.

And that poster–wow, talk about politically incorrect! I love it! 🙂

  3. It’s really kind of ironic because the only reason women were given the right to vote and take leadership positions over men is because men have allowed them to do this. I am sure feminists don’t want to acknowledge this but it’s true. It’s difficult for men to stand up against the nagging and persuasion of women, take Adam for example. He gave into his wife which led to the worse kind of destruction – a sinful, fallen world.

  4. You’re right, Lady Virtue. When women rebel against the Lord and His ways, all wisdom leaves them since all wisdom comes from God. May we continually seek wisdom from above so we are not deceived as many are being today.

  5. Please change “sheeting” to strong… We need strong men…
And I agree! Toxic femininity is rife too, the toxic views of “girl-power” in domineering men!

  6. Ah, a sacred cow of our republic. I shall expect to hear you’ve received some nasty comments. Then again, perhaps at this point your opponents will say, “What else can we expect of such a foolish woman who obviously believes that women are not the equal of men?”

  7. That’s right, Heidi! Equal in value and worth but not equal in roles. God created us differently for very good reasons – to compliment each other, not compete with each other.

  8. Thanks, Lori, for the excellent post! The poster was extremely insightful. I do vote as well for candidates affirming and protecting LIFE. How can we sing “God Bless America” from the heart as long as our nation condones the shedding of innocent preborn blood. My vote in this regard is supporting my husband’s vote too!

  9. Good for you, Holly! God cares a lot more about wives submitting to their husbands in everything as He has commanded than who we vote for; that’s for sure.

  10. Hi Lori!

My husband actually found your blog amidst a time where I was antsy at home while he worked all day, and after reading your blog posts, you have encouraged me what God really has called women to be. I do have a question though, what do you think of women worship leaders? Are there limits and should this be predominantly men? Growing up, a youth group leader told me I couldn’t lead because I was a woman and it was designated for males — he was a guy. I was upset to say the least. But it did make me turn to scripture for answers.

My husband and I are both musicians and sometimes my pastor will ask me to fill in for service if my husband has to run the soundboard and PowerPoint in the back.

It’s been a question I’ve had for quite some time, as I enjoy leading music in church (not in a prideful, musician way that is).

I would love to hear any thoughts on this!

  11. Hi Kati,

I am not a fan of women in any type of leadership positions in the churches. Often, they will give little mini-sermons between songs (teaching men which is forbidden in the Word of God) and pray. I much prefer men to be in all leadership positions in the churches, especially as it pertains to the actually church service where the body of Christ is gathered. It is clear that women are to be silent in the churches and allow the men to lead, so I stick to this conviction.

  12. I think it’s best if ladies like us, keepers of the home, not vote and let our fathers, husbands, and sons vote on our behalf. They know best and we must trust their judgment.

  13. I so agree! Our church recently hired a woman to be the worship leader. I tell you, the hair on the back of my neck stands straight up when she leads in prayer! It is so uncomfortable to me. Why don’t the leaders see how wrong this is?

  14. When we vote as our husbands vote, then we are supporting their vote. If we don’t vote, it’s one less vote for conservative and traditional values. I know there are other women who agree with you, Mrs. Reid, but I do not. However, it’s certainly a matter of conscience.

  15. I completely agree with this article, thank you for having the courage to write it. It’s clear to me that men are meant to do some things, and women are meant to do others.

  16. I agree Lori. Women should not be like men, but conservative women must be heard to combat radical feminism. These loonies won’t listen to men as they may women standing against their lunacy…

  17. I agree. Not only do female worship leaders usually end up praying publicly and giving mini-sermonettes during worship, but I believe that women’s presence and influence in the worship scene is why modern evangelical worship is so deplorably effeminate.

  18. The United States government was founded with the concept of the separation of church and state, and women were granted the right to vote via the 19th Amendment to the Constitution in 1920. If you wish to abstain from voting for any reason (religious or otherwise), that is your option. However, I will exercise my right to vote on Tuesday as an American woman who wants to have a say in governing of my country.

  19. Love this! Such wisdom. I totally go nuts seeing young men wearing pajama pants and baggy Smurf hats in public with t-shirts that read “Not adulting today”! Contrast this to the young men who fought and won WW2. We need to raise strong young men. It is a full time job, moms!

  20. Women should not vote – if it’s wrong to vote for liberal causes it’s just as wrong to vote for so-called conservatives, especially when they think nothing of running candidates who should be at home and NOT running for office. When this country was founded voting was very limited and only men who met the requirements could do so. We foolishly put that idea aside and it has cost us dearly.

  21. I love your blog Lori, and find so much of what you write really encouraging, but I’m afraid we will never, ever agree on this issue.

Feminism and women voting are two entirely different things. They may have been the same thing once, but they’re totally different now.

We women pay taxes (even women who don’t work still pay tax in my country in the form of GST – purchase tax on everything – tax in petrol, tax on everything!!) so I think we should help decide what our tax dollars get spent on.
We’re also raising the next generation, so it’s important that we let our beliefs help shape the future for our children – by voting.
All citizens on the electoral roll get to have their say in referendums – it’s important that our voices are heard on these issues, especially if we have children! I would go so far as to say we have a RESPONSIBILITY to cast our vote to help shape the future, for our children!

I’m a New Zealander and totally proud that we’ve just celebrated 125 years of women having the vote here. When anti-suffragists in America were still trying to stop women from voting (based on the information you gave about that cartoon poster), women here had been voting for nearly 30 years. We now have our 3rd female Prime Minister and she’s doing a great job, respected all over the world.

I’m proud to be a descendant of one of the hardworking, passionate suffrage campaigners here, and Kate Sheppard, who led them, is recognised on our $10 note.

My husband has never voted in his life. He’s just not interested. But I believe in the importance of voting and will continue to do so.

  22. This reminds me of a picture I saw the other day. It was two side-by-side pictures of teenage boys, 18 years old. The picture on the left was captioned 1940 and was a soldier about to go off to war, showing what would be expected of him. The picture on the right was a modern 18 year old boy, crying, with the words “somebody hurt my feelings!!”
The world we live in is far too PC. Manly men are not the norm any longer. It’s very sad.

  23. Lady Virtue – I’m not sure about anywhere else in the world, but I am descended from a prominent suffragette here in New Zealand and family stories about her escapades have been handed down. None of those stories involve fighting, violence or death. Just petitioning, campaigning, speaking etc. Women “fought” for the right to vote, sure. But that “fighting” wasn’t in a physical or violent sense. Not like the men who went to war and fought for our freedom. Totally different thing!

  24. A husband or father should vote for his family. The predictions of those wise women who campaigned against the vote for women were predictably true.

  25. If the women are working and paying their tithes to the church or the female congregants are working and paying the their tithes and offerings to the church, then you can bet that they also want to be worship leaders/like female worship leaders.

The pastor’s (many) will not preach about women being SAHM because bang will go their cash cow. The churches nowadays are made up of 70 percent women and most work and have working husbands.

It is only if he has a death wish, he will talk about biblical roles for women.

  26. In the Catholic church there is no “leading” prayer from the cantor. They walk up, sing, bow to God, and leave. What churches allow the singers to speak? That would be very odd from my experience! Similarly, in the Catholic church (I know you are not Catholic, Lori) women may read from the Bible, but only a man does the teaching (the priest during the homily, or lesson). To interject any of her (or even his, if it is a man doing a reading) own words during the mass would be ridiculously frowned upon. It is unheard of.

  27. Great post!

I’ve been saying this for years. 70% of single women vote Democrat, and the majority of married women do too.

A women’s precious role as a mother, wife, and keeper of the home has been neglected.

Young men like me are raised with society teaching us to idolize the ‘liberated’ woman. This woman, if we make the mistake of falling for her, leads us to our doom.

  28. Dear KAK,

Would you mind me chiming in?

Firstly, I really appreciate your kind and conversational tone, even though you disagree with Lori. That’s awesome.

Secondly, my husband also used to be apathetic about voting. He would either not vote at all, or would just ask me how to vote. (I did all of the research.)

A few years ago, I became convicted that I should be following my husband’s leadership in this area, rather than the reverse. I told my husband that I was stopping all political research, and would not make any move toward voting – it was all up to him.

He missed quite a few elections. But gradually, he took interest and took over responsibility for our voting. Now he researches our ballots, and votes for our family.

    Cheers!!
    Diana

  29. Lori, this is SPOT ON. Wow, I can’t believe the wording of that poster – it reads like an all-too-fulfilled prophecy. I’m so impressed with the women of yesteryear who had such sagacity to refuse the false offers of freedom which have led to such utter disaster (divorce, abortion, etc.).

    Keep up the good work!

  30. You got it right Lori!

“It’s a deep pit that is never satisfied.”

Feminism was created by Satan, and like all his works, it is designed to seem attractive at first, but *never* satisfies or uplifts, but always leads down, down, down in a spiral of ever-increasing discontent, misery, hatred of others and self-hatred.

Feminists always seek to spread their disease to others so they don’t have to endure seeing the truth — that they have damned themselves — when they see a happy, free mother walk by shining with an inner light along with her contented husband and beautiful children.

I have so many family members and friends who are trapped in this and I mourn for them, but I won’t join them.

  31. Deciding who would be given suffrage was a hurdle when our country was founded. They settled on the household through the male vote. Each household got a say-so in representation and that served well because what was good for the household was good for the nation. Having the Senate, which was supposed to represent the states, turned over to popular vote, and dispensing with the household vote in favor of the individual vote was the beginning of the end for this grand experiment. I expand on this quite a bit in the article linked to my name above.

  32. I love this article Lori! My husband actually found it and pointed it out to me.

I am not a fan of women voting at all, unless the husband’s desire is for them to do so. I feel that women vote with their heart, and when you use emotion instead of logic, it becomes dangerous.

My husband is very civic minded and he wishes that I vote and I will vote according to his wishes.

    Thanks for the encourarging posts.

  33. A woman voting in an election that makes any rules or regulations that a man must submit to blasphemies the Word of God.

We know that a wife must ‘submit in everything’ to her husband so that ‘the Word of God be not blasphemed’ –Eph 5:24 + Titus 2:4-5. If she is not to make her husband submit to her, how can she then make another man submit to her without blaspheming the Word of God …without blaspheming Jesus Christ, the very words that proceeded out of the mouth of God? Can she trash God’s Will and Way and not invite His wrath? Hardly. And God speaks of the relationship of all women to men …’the man is the head of the woman’ and ‘the woman is the glory of the man’ and many more.

Now, if a husband tells his wife to vote, then she must, and she is free from sin; the blood of blasphemy is on his hands; he must then answer to God.

And, while on the topic, those that vote to put a woman in authority over a man endorse the blasphemy of the word of God; that woman in office blasphemes the Word of God.

Women blaspheme; men can only encourage and endorse her blasphemy, which I suggest is the same effective sin.

  34. Hi Lori, I agree with you completely! I really don’t feel that women need to be voting, but I always strengthen my husband’s choices by going with him to the polls and voting EXACTLY as he instructs me too. I feel women have no place in politics and I certainly have absolutely no interest in it! Men are the leaders, women are not.

  35. Hi Lori,
I have a question I hope you might be able to shed some light on. What is your opinion on biblical evidence for women apostleship and deacons? Is this true?
    Thank you,
    Selene

  36. What about Romans 16? Phoebe was a deacon of the church of Cenchreae. Junia was thrown into prison with Paul for her faith, and was “outstanding among the apostles.” Women have been laboring, leading and suffering for the cause of Christ all along. Is it not dangerous to disregard these words and accounts – all God breathed and given?

  37. The KJV states that she is a “servant of the church…” The Bible would not contradict itself. Besides, it’s better to obey the clear commands of God rather than to try to find vague examples that are contradictory to His clear commands. We don’t even know if Junia was a woman and he/she was of “note” among the apostles. He/She wasn’t an apostle.

  38. Hello! Today, feminism is the enemy. It is the destruction of the nuclear family. I ask you, who was the enemy before the rise of feminism? Who was the destroyer of our sacred nuclear family bonds before the rise of educating women? Religion has existed for years and it was created because of destruction. It gave structure and protection, but protection from what? Long before we even educated women.

  39. You clearly never learned about the Separation of Church and State.

Please read the letter the Danbury Baptists wrote to Thomas Jefferson, and his response. Thank you!

We were founded by 204 Christian men, and it is stubborn and ahistorical types like you who are ripping the nation down.
