Are Only Young Widows Commanded to Marry, Bear Children, and Guide the Home?
In 1 Timothy 5:13,14, the Apostle Paul commands young widows to marry, bear children, and guide the home thus behave like normal wives rather than abusing their unmarried state to run around and become tattlers and busybodies. Yet, many have tried arguing with me whenever I use 1 Timothy 5:14 in order to convince women that God wants young women to marry, bear children, and guide the home. They will tell me that this verse is ONLY for young widows. It doesn’t apply to other Christian single women. Oh, really?
So God is fine with young single women pursuing debt-laden college degrees from godless indoctrination centers where alcohol, drugs, and fornication abounds, so they then can have careers working for a boss and a paycheck which keeps them in bondage to their career and far from God’s will for women? So young single women have no problems with running around, being tattlers and busybodies and this is why they don’t need to marry, bear children, and guide the home?
Did you know that God uses childbearing to make us more like Christ? We are told in 1 Timothy 2:15 that we are saved in childbearing IF we continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. Being married, bearing and raising children, and being homemakers are God’s will for us. They keep us busy doing kingdom work rather than building up our own kingdoms. Feminism is what convinced women to leave their homes for careers in order to gain independence and freedom, not God.
In Proverbs, God talks about whores whose feet are not at home. “She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house” (Proverbs 7:11). God wants us busy at home. He created us to bear and raise children. You can’t neglect the design He has for us. He created men to be the providers and protectors. They have the upper body strength, the muscle mass, and testosterone to do this. We don’t. We have the bodies to bear and nurse children.
And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the home, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
