Teachers Leaving Their Jobs Due to Out of Control Children
Years ago when I was a teacher, I taught in a very poor section of the San Fernando Valley. My first year of teaching was a sixth grade class. I had one girl in my class who threw tantrums on a regular basis and would storm out of the classroom. She made teaching miserable for me. One afternoon when all of the children were gone, a gang of guys walked in to my room and I could tell they were up to no good. It was a terrifying experience. Many children these days are angry and out of control. Many teachers are quitting because of it.
These days when a child is out of control, teachers are told to take all of the children out of the classroom while the child having a temper tantrum destroys the classroom. What’s the answer to this problem? According to NBC News, it’s smaller class sizes, more teacher training, and more mental health specialists which all require more money and higher taxes.
The true solution? Parents need to stay married. Divorce is devastating upon children and causes much anger in them. Mothers need to be home full time with their children to train them to be good. Children need to be trained to not have temper tantrums. THIS is the parent’s job! Raising and training children is a full-time job, women. It should never be handed off to others to do. Smaller classrooms, more teacher training, and more mental health specialists aren’t going to stop children from having tantrums.
When I was in elementary school, principals had paddles in their office. Children who misbehaved were paddled on their bottoms. There was little misbehavior in the schools even though classroom sizes were 30 or more children. There was no need for more teacher training and mental health specialists. Chewing gum and running in the hallways was about the only problems teachers dealt with back then. Now, teachers and principals aren’t allowed to lay a hand on a student! They aren’t even allowed to hug them. This is another reason to homeschool your children. This culture is becoming more and more unsafe as those who do wrong are not punished but continue in their wrongdoing with no consequences.
The solution is NOT higher taxes and more money given to schools. The solution is building and supporting strong families and mothers coming home. This is what children need more than anything.
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
