“For of this sort are they which creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Timothy 3:6,7). Do you notice that this refers to women only? Why did Satan go to Eve and not Adam? Here are what a few commentaries of old have to say about this verse.

“Satan began his work of temptation with Eve rather than with Adam, and the advocates of error usually follow his example. There are always weak-minded women enough in any community to give an opportunity of practicing these arts, and often the aims of the impostor and deceiver can be best secured by appealing to them. Such women are easily flattered; they are charmed by the graceful manners of religious instructors; they lend a willing ear to anything that has the appearance of religion, and their hearts are open to anything that promises to advance the welfare of the world.” (Barnes’ Commentary)

“And lead captive silly women; the coming of antichrist is after the working of Satan; as Satan attacked the woman, and not the man, and beguiled Eve and not Adam, so these his instruments and emissaries, work themselves into the affections of the weaker vessel, and into the weaker sort of women, as the diminutive word here used signifies; and gain upon them, instill their principles into them, attach them to their interests, captivate them to them, and lead them as they please.” (Gill’s Commentary)

Why are women so captivated by female preachers and books written by false teachers such as “Jesus Calling” and not men? It’s because God created us with a more emotional and sensitive nature to raise children, NOT to lead anything nor to be in authority over anyone except for our children. Since we know that we can be led astray easily, it’s all the more important for us to be in His Word daily, listen and learn from godly men only, and ask our husbands if we have a question, not a local female Bible study leader who isn’t teaching women what God commands that she teach in Titus 2:4,5.

Why have women fallen prey to the feminists agenda, left their homes for the workforce, left their children in the care of others, and divorced their husbands when they’re not happy? They believe the father of lies, Satan, too easily as Eve did. We’re no different than her. Begin learning biblical womanhood and become the woman that God has called you to be, women! His ways are good, and His plan for you is good. Feminists want you to believe God’s ways are “dangerous” and even harmful. They’re lying to you. They’re Satan’s agents. Begin believing Truth instead!

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
