Tamiflu Can Be Deadly
Most of you heard that Rachel Held Evans died this past year and many of you saw on my Facebook that I wasn’t a fan of hers since I disagreed vehemently with what she taught. She taught pretty much everything contrary to what I teach, but I never celebrated her death and will never celebrate the death of anyone. It was a tragic event. Death is our last enemy (1 Corinthians 15:6) but thankfully, Christ conquered death by His death and resurrection for all who believe upon Him.
This post isn’t going to be about her teachings and beliefs but about how she died. All we heard about her death is that she had the flu then began having seizures which eventually killed her. However, I think we may have clues what happened by some texts that she wrote. Here’s the first one:
From this text, we can see that Rachel was pro-vaccination. Vaccinations are full of toxic ingredients. It appears she got the flu shot yearly, too, but it didn’t seem to prevent one of her children from getting the flu last year. (Two pharmacists live on my street and they both have said they would never take the flu shot.) In April of this year, she wrote a tweet that explained that she had the flu and on April 10th, she wrote that she had taken Tamiflu. Soon after this, her seizures began.
On April 14th, she tweeted that she had a severe allergic reaction from an antibiotic she had taken. Her last tweet was that she was sorry the hospital didn’t have HBO since she would miss watching “Game of Thrones” which is an awful, pornographic show. Her husband wrote a few days later that her brain was experiencing constant seizures. What are the side effects of Tamiful?
Do you see that seizure is one of the side effects? Now, we can’t be for certain that the Tamiflu is what eventually killed Rachel but we can sure make a reasonable guess. I, for one, would never get the flu shot and if I got the flu, I would never take Tamiflu. Some antibiotics are known for causing seizures as well.
Remember, with all drugs there are side effects and you must educate yourself before being prescribed anything and decide whether or not the potential side effects are worth taking the drug. Yes, sometimes drugs are desperately needed for life but many times they are not, and in these cases, there are much healthier alternatives.
The past year or so, whenever I have been exposed to the flu or cold, I begin taking Elderberry syrup and it has worked every time with zero side effects! I much prefer taking something like this for a cold or flu rather than a drug with many awful side effects including potential death. My grandmother raised seven children on lemon and honey water whenever they were sick with a cold or flu without ever taking them to a doctor! (They certainly didn’t eat the processed junk food that many live on these days.)
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 Corinthians 6:19, 20

I never get the flu shot. Thw one time i did get it as a teen I got sick. Very sick. My son was about 8 months when we both got the flu. I didnt get the flu shot. We took lots of herbal remedies, tinctures and teas, cool cloths to foreheads, rested, and snuggled up together (human touch is very healing so snuggle up with your sick children!) We didnt experience any bad symptoms and we recovered very quickly, not to mention my son faster than me! No antibiotics or tamiflu for me. I need to get some elderberry by the way for the colder months thanks for the reminder!
I’m sorry I disagree with you on this one Lori. My family has been getting the flu shot since 2000 and everything has been Ok. We plan to get it next month as well. For us, the influenza shot has been very helpful in fighting off the influenza bug.
I also got all the shots when I was a kid for measles, etc and I have been fine. We allowed our daughter to get all the immunizations as well. We are all fine. I’m sorry for some people who get sick from these immunizations but on the whole they help our society to be healthy. It’s very few that get harmed by them. The government would not allow these shots to be given if they were a harm to us. They want to help spread sickness and I think they are great. This is my experience and my belief.
I’ve never commented before. I love your blog and now I’m loving it even more 🙂 Thank you for not being afraid to post about this topic. Vaccines are not for everyone despite what the medical community recommends. There are many people who have died after receiving the flu shot but unfortunately it’s rarely reported in the media. Ms. Evans’ death is tragic and sadly will be used to further the vaccination agenda.
Regarding Tamiflu, it has been banned in Japan for children and teens. That’s gotta tell us something isn’t right.
You may want to read this article on why the flu shot is more dangerous than the flu itself. Have you ever read the insert of a flu vaccination for the ingredients in it? If not, I encourage you to do so.

I have been pressured to give my children the ‘normal’ childhood vaccines, but I have never given them (or myself) a flu shot or even the optional shots today such as the HPV shot an others that are ‘highly recommended’ by our doctors.
Even though there is still pressure, I know that people were MUCH healthier when I was growing up and none of this flu shot business was around. As I look around as I run daily errands, I just see an overall population/culture of decline and ill health. Makes me sad. My husband gets the flu shot and he is always the one who gets sick each winter. Granted it could be to his exposure to things/people at work or airline travel, but my kids are in school and they hardly ever, ever get sick. Praise be to God. Thank you for posting about this topic.
Additionally, If our government cared so much about our well-being, they would not be letting sick, diseased, untested and un-quarantined human beings, who bring every manner of illness, parasites, measles and other diseases, etc., from all over the planet into and distribute them around our country. Legal immigration and waiting period of testing, etc. – fine. What has been happening for many, many years – not fine at all.
Gloria, unfortunately vaccines are exempt from having to go through the same rigorous testing other drugs are required to by the FDA (double-blind placebo studies). The government has also given vaccine manufacturers (pharmaceutical companies) immunity against lawsuits. Why is that? If they are so safe why do they need protection from the government? Instead, if you are injured from a vaccine you have to go through what is called vaccine court (look up VAERS) and our tax payer dollars go toward compensating injured individuals/families. Billions have been paid out already since 1986. This is not commonly reported because mainstream media is largely sponsored by the pharmaceutical corporations. I’m all for choice in vaccines. If it works for you family then that is your choice to vaccinate.
What worries me is the legislation being introduced to force us to vaccinate. California just passed a bill (SB276) whereby public schools no longer can accept vaccine medical exemptions for children. So if your child had a bad reaction to a particular vaccine at some point, you can no longer seek a medical exemption for that child. And if you choose to have your child skip that particular vaccine, your child cannot attend school. So no, the government is NOT about protecting people and does not care about safety. NY has eliminated religious exemptions for school vaccination requirements. Several vaccines contain aborted human fetal cell lines. So again, if you live in NY and are against injecting such agents into your child, your child cannot attend public school.
I’ve never had the flu shot… I’d much rather live with the flu than to inject my body with the unknown… my daughter got the flu this year and was mad at me for not getting her the flu shot… I told her good hygiene practices and not sharing drinks, etc would also prevent the flu… I also usually only shop the outer perimeter of the store and she either eats healthy or she goes hungry… I grew up on antibiotics and shots weekly and as a result, I had to get dental implants because it ate my teeth away by 18…
All shots and vaccines are fabulous! Until they are not. My daughter has permanent vaccine damage. I was pressured (into giving her childhood vaccinations as an infant) I should have resisted. She now has a severe nut allergy which is traced to vaccinations. Some kids do better than others with vaccinations but there are *always side effects. Thankfully we didn’t give them all to her and she had a delayed schedule. My son didn’t get any. Personally I’d love to read a study about vaccinations and nut allergies. I have read in scientific newsletters that they are linked but haven’t read all the studies. Whenever I find a parent of a child with severe nut allergies I always ask the parents if they vaccinated. Like me, they did. In my circles I know quite a few parents who didn’t vaccinate and none of the children have severe nut allergies.
When my daughter was about 9 months (after already receiving some vaccinations) my husband and I had the opportunity to attend a talk by the head physician of a top ten University and hospital in the US. We openly asked about the vaccination issue. He said he would talk with us more later. Privately he said he didn’t vaccinate his children and wouldn’t advise anyone to do it.
Vaccinations are like climate change. Some scientists (the loudest) believe in it and pressure all else to conform to their beliefs. Politicians (that have no clue about most things) take the “squeaky wheel” scientists word for it and build policy supporting their viewpoint.
Lori, because we come from Africa where preventable but deadly childhood diseases are rife, we definitely have all our children vaccinated because we’ve lost family members and friends to measles, diphtheria, tuberculosis, and tetanus. I actually have a cousin crippled by polio. In 1st world countries I suppose majority of the population has an excellent quality of life, sanitation and hygiene so the risk of infection is negligible and many can forego vaccines without adverse consequences. That’s a luxury that we cannot afford in third world countries.
That being said we have never had a flu vaccine because we reckon that flu is viral and recurrent throughout one’s life, so vaccination is futile.
Oh the government allows a lot of stuff to happen that shouldn’t. Never put your faith in the government. If you doubt me read about the Tuskegee syphilis study that didn’t end until modern times (1972).
Yes, and the flu virus is constantly changing, thus the flu shot is highly ineffective. In studying vaccinations for our children, we saw a huge correlation of those diseases growing small in numbers as sanitation improved. I believe this is what is better for people in the long run rather than shooting them up with highly questionable ingredients including some from aborted fetuses but it must be each couple’s conviction as what they do. Unfortunately, the government in America is doing everything in its power to take away the freedom to choose.
The flu is not a bacteria it is a virus. The Influenza Virus, aka the flu, contagious respiratory illness. The flu appears most frequently in winter and early spring. The flu virus attacks the body by spreading through the upper and/or lower respiratory tract.
There are four types of influenza viruses: A, B, C and D. Human influenza A and B viruses cause seasonal epidemics of disease almost every winter in the United States. The emergence of a new and very different influenza A virus to infect people can cause an influenza pandemic. Influenza type C infections generally cause a mild respiratory illness and are not thought to cause epidemics. Influenza D viruses primarily affect cattle and are not known to infect or cause illness in people.
Influenza A viruses are divided into subtypes based on two proteins on the surface of the virus: the hemagglutinin (H) and the neuraminidase (N). There are 18 different hemagglutinin subtypes and 11 different neuraminidase subtypes. (H1 through H18 and N1 through N11 respectively.)
Influenza A viruses can be further broken down into different strains. Current subtypes of influenza A viruses found in people are influenza A (H1N1) and influenza A (H3N2) viruses. In the spring of 2009, a new influenza A (H1N1) virus (CDC 2009 H1N1 Flu website) emerged to cause illness in people. This virus was very different from the human influenza A (H1N1) viruses circulating at that time. The new virus caused the first influenza pandemic in more than 40 years. That virus (often called “2009 H1N1”) has now replaced the H1N1 virus that was previously circulating in humans.
Influenza B viruses are not divided into subtypes, but can be further broken down into lineages and strains. Currently circulating influenza B viruses belong to one of two lineages: B/Yamagata and B/Victoria.
influenza C and D viruses have seven-segmented genomes. Each genomic RNA segment exists in the form of a ribonucleoprotein complex (RNP) in association with nucleoproteins and an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase in virions. Influenza D virus was recently isolated from swine and cattle, but its morphology is not fully studied. Here, we examined the morphological characteristics of D/bovine/Yamagata/10710/2016 (D/Yamagata) and C/Ann Arbor/50 (C/AA), focusing on RNPs packaged within the virions. By scanning transmission electron microscopic tomography, we found that more than 70% of D/Yamagata and C/AA virions packaged eight RNPs arranged in the “1+7” pattern as observed in influenza A and B viruses, even though type C and D virus genomes are segmented into only seven segments. These results imply that influenza viruses generally package eight RNPs arranged in the “1+7” pattern regardless of the number of RNA segments in their genome.
However a flu if not taken care of can cause some bacterial infections.
A bacterial infection may develop following infection with viral influenza . Signs of a bacterial infection include:
Ear pain that lasts more than 24 hours or severe ear pain that lasts longer than 1 hour.
A sore throat that lasts longer than 2 to 3 days despite home treatment and does not “act” like a cold.
Sinus pain that persists despite 2 to 4 days of home treatment, especially if nasal drainage is colored rather than clear and fever is also present.
Nasal drainage that changes from clear to colored after 5 to 7 days of flu, while other symptoms (such as sinus pain or fever) are getting worse.
A cough that lingers more than 7 to 10 days after other symptoms have cleared, especially if it is bringing up mucus (productive).
Yellow, green, rust-colored, or bloody mucus that is coughed up from the lungs, especially while other symptoms are getting worse. Mucus coughed up from the lungs is a more serious symptom than mucus that has drained down the back of the throat (postnasal drip).
The Differences Between Bacteria and Viruses
Although bacteria and viruses are both too small to be seen without a microscope, they’re as different as giraffes and goldfish.
Bacteria are relatively complex, single-celled creatures, many with a rigid wall, and a thin, rubbery membrane surrounding the fluid inside the cell. They can reproduce on their own. Fossilized records show that bacteria have existed for about 3.5 billion years, and bacteria can survive in different environments, including extreme heat and cold, radioactive waste, and the human body.
Most bacteria are harmless, and some actually help by digesting food, destroying disease-causing microbes, fighting cancer cells, and providing essential nutrients. Fewer than 1% of bacteria cause diseases in people.
A bacterial infection may develop following infection with viral influenza . Signs of a bacterial infection include:
Viruses are tinier: the largest of them are smaller than the smallest bacteria. All they have is a protein coat and a core of genetic material, either RNA or DNA. Unlike bacteria, viruses can’t survive without a host. They can only reproduce by attaching themselves to cells. In most cases, they reprogram the cells to make new viruses until the cells burst and die. In other cases, they turn normal cells into malignant or cancerous cells.
Also unlike bacteria, most viruses do cause disease, and they’re quite specific about the cells they attack. For example, certain viruses attack cells in the liver, respiratory system, or blood. In some cases, viruses target bacteria.
My brother literally changed after getting the Mmr vaccine. He now is on the autism spectrum. I can’t say he’s the reason I don’t vaccinate my kids. I’m not of the type that thinks my children will get autism if I vaccinate one time. There’s a lot of factors that go into breaking the camel’s back.
I have done a bunch of reading and watched documentaries and read papers and it doesn’t add up. You can look up disease charts and see when vaccines were introduced and see how the reported cases spiked. It’s a money grab and a way to keep people stupid.
Hey Lori,
Thank you for the elderberry tip, my baby and I are just getting over a cold and gastro.
What are your suggestions for healthy remedies for gastro after vomiting a lot?
Thank you. God bless ?
Lots of probiotics to repopulate the gut like sauerkraut, kefir, kombucha, and such. It’s good to eat these on a daily basis since it helps prevents illness.
I get the flu up to 4 times a year.
I’m a flu expert! I’ve been like this since I was a child. Neither of my parents get the flu, ever.
I do think maybe the vaccines I received as a child weakened me…you’d think if it was genetic there would be family trait…but nope.
Anyways…when I was a kid I kept getting strep and each time I took antibiotics and felt better. However, a week later or two weeks later, I would get strep throat again even worse. I finally realized that the antibiotics were not letting my body solve the problem. I realized this in 6th grade and I never asked to go to the doctor again and never took anything again.
Anyways, I still constantly get the flu but I realize that it’s just my body re-booting itself. It’s just how I am, my husband is very supportive when I get sick.
Another weird thing about how I get ill…when I over-eat for maybe 2 weeks at a time, I will get the flu. It’s very strange, but I’ve noticed that pattern.
Rachel Held Evans doesn’t sound like a bad person…she just sounds Stupidly Trusting.
Stupidly Trusting is a very bad trait to have…yet it makes for very lovely kind people.
They’re not “lovely kind people” if they are leading people down the wrong path and away from the Savior of their souls. She knew the truth but decided she didn’t like it so she made up her own god and her own bible. It’s a dangerous place to be.
Before I became a stay at home wife, I worked in the healthcare industry. One of the organization’s lines of business was vaccines. Everything JT said is completely accurate!
I will absolutely never ever take a flu shot again (I have a few times in the past), or any other vaccines either!
The Thinking Housewife once had a photo collage of people who were ‘stupidly trusting’ and then met early ends.
All of the people had the same ‘look’, wide eyed and innocent. They looked like nice people to have a cup of coffee with, people who would drive their friends to the airport but maybe not born leaders.
(I don’t know anything about Rachel Evans)
That’s one thing I miss about the U.S….There is Skepticism. Here in Europe, in some countries it’s really frowned upon to be Skeptical.
In the U.S. it is normal to go to a doctor and ask questions and you are expected to do your own research.
I go to the fertility doctor with my husband in this country and the fact that I question ANYTHING is heresy. It’s very strange.
A healthy dose of skepticism goes a long way.
