She’s a Hero for Not Wanting Children
Yes, we have a new hero. It’s a woman who was offered a promotion where she worked but her boyfriend didn’t want her to take it because she would be making more than him (which should be a normal male response contrary to popular opinion). He explained that she wouldn’t need it since they would marry then she would be home taking care of the children.
“He then told her that she should instead focus on getting married and having kids because… well, because apparently he got stuck in a time machine and thinks this is the year 1954.” This is when she up and left him. Most women value money over children and relationships. They value their freedom over what’s lasting and important. They value what the Devil, their father, values. God values marriage and children. If God is our Father, then we will, too. He values women being home to bear and raise their children.
People clapped when she told him that she never wanted children. They clapped. How sad is this? They know not God. They don’t do the things of God. They are turning their backs on God’s ways. We must continually be turning towards them; for they are good.
Just this morning, I read this about the Devil. “Yes are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth because there is NO truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44). Examine this verse with me. Devil = lusts = murderer = no truth in him = liar = father of lies. This is who many people, who refuse the truth of God’s Word, are following, therefore, nothing they do should surprise us.
But Jesus tells us, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Free from what? “Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin…If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:34, 36). We are free from sin but those who refuse Him are servants of sin. We can clearly see the Devil’s deceptions and God’s truth. We know the Lord and that His ways are perfect. We can see the lies many people are believing. They are following their father whose aim is to kill, steal, and destroy. We follow the Father of life who values life and created marriage.
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psalm 127:3

So let me get this straight… (I clicked over and read the article.) This woman is a hero because she turned down a man who loved her and wanted children with her, a life of being provided for, and a trip to Cancun??!!!! She sounds like a FOOL to me! What a nice life she said no to. I can’t imagine her new life of being cooped up in an office will give her the satisfaction that a family and home could.
Feminism has destroyed women and they don’t even know it. It’s tragic.
What if one of your daughters doesn’t desire children? What should we do then? I have 5 daughters. 3 are married with 2 children each. One is married and infertile and she and her husband are missionaries. One, my youngest, has never wanted children even from the time she was very young, or been interested in them. She is the best aunt in the old but is happy to stay at that. She & her husband run a beautiful organic farm in our state and serve many local farmers markets in our area. She and her husband are happy and productive, and I have learned to make peace with that.
“They value what the Devil, their father, values.” Well said.
Which really makes them bastards, for they claim they have no Father. They run away from home and become prostitutes for the pimp of this world, Satan.
Hi Lori,
I was hoping for a post about Good Friday today!
Have a Blessed Good Friday!
I would grieve if one of my daughters or daughters-in-law didn’t want children, Carolyn, and I would pray and ask the Lord to change their minds. God’s will for young women is to marry, bear children, and guide the home, yet many young women don’t want to obey God. They would rather live their lives the way they want to live, unfortunately, and they are missing out. Children bring so much joy and are gifts from the Lord.
Good for him! Now he’ll have a better chance of getting a good wife if he has pulled his head out of the sand. Doubtful though, these men seem to be attracted to the lowest denominator of women. I don’t get it.
I do not believe in people having children that they do not want. So if this is what she & her husband feel is best for them then I will support them, it’s just something that isn’t talked about much.
I believe in obeying God and not what I think is best. No, you can’t talk them into having children but you can pray.
They then become miserable, angry, and lost just as their father, the Devil, wants them to become and he blinds their eyes to the truth of God’s beautiful ways.
Unfortunately, M, there are far too few women who want to be keepers at home and raise their own children.
Thank you, Emily. I try to share the truth of God’s Word and His ways all throughout the year. What happened on Good Friday changed history and every day for good for all those who believe upon His name!
Amen!
Lori,
Thank you for pointing out the normalcy of a man not wanting his wife {or would be wife} to make more money than him in employment. No one ultimately benefits in such a situation. The woman actually often resents her husband if she outearns him and I’ve read such couples are at higher risk for divorce.
God gave the duty of dressing and keeping the garden of Eden to the man, Adam, not Eve {Genesis 2:5, 15}. This was His plan from the beginning, and it still is. So many women have usurped this and don’t think about provision as something a man is supposed to do within marriage. God’s plan is perfect and cannot be improved upon.
Amen, Lady Virtue. Women were not created to be the providers no matter how hard they try or want to be. They are going against their created purpose.
Well, i guess the trash just took itself out! ??
Women were meant to have children. Even when I was young, all I ever wanted to do was get married and have children. I never had high ambitions for a career – I just worked in whatever jobs I could get around the husband and children God blessed me with.
I’ve been blessed with 4 beautiful children and I can’t imagine life without them – they are my reason for living.
Sadly, my sister, who has always wanted 2 children, has decided not to have any, because her partner has 2 from a previous marriage and doesn’t want any more. I am so sad for her, because I know what she is missing out on. She has always loved my children and I know how much she wanted her own. But her career is her life, now. It has to be; she has nothing else.
We need more men who want their wives to stay home and raise the children, and who make it possible for this to happen.
Hi Lori,
What about surrogacy or adoption if a person can’t naturally conceive?
I am not a fan of surrogacy for numerous reason but am a huge fan of adoption!
