I had an older lady at church give me this advice. “Honey, men are natural leaders and providers. They are aggressive because they have to be. They go to war to keep us safe. They work in dangerous jobs to provide for us women, and God designed them that way. Men don’t like criticism from their women.”

She said, “Trust in God and pray about it. You stand beside him, help him anyway you can, and support what he needs. Criticism kills trust and relationships.”

I remember her words. She has been gone for a very long time, but her marriage was strong and her husband was our superintendent. l use to watch them, and she always had a content, quiet and meek spirit. She always listened attentively when he spoke. I admired that and took notes as a young girl. I have also heard and seen countless women criticizing their husbands in many areas. Don’t become one of these women.
