Fornication Leaves Scars Forever

Fornication Leaves Scars Forever

Before bed, I listen to a sermon. Last night, I listened to Pastor James Know preach on fornication. (They were having trouble with the microphone, so some of it is not too clear, but most of it is!) It’s an excellent sermon. He taught that when the lists of sin are given in the New Testament, fornication is always the first one listed, and it’s the only sin that God commands us to flee from. Why?

Because it is a sin against our own body. “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” (1 Corinthians 6:18) It can affect the emotions, mind, and physical health. It can lead to STDs, guilt, infertility, abortions, lack of ability to bond with one man in marriage, comparing and discontentment in marriage, divorce, committing adultery when married, and a host of other issues. God says to flee it because it’s harmful, so we must trust Him.

Many women in this nation are on SSRIs and claim mental illness. These have skyrocketed in the past few generations. I’m sure a large part is due to fornication and the consequences. Bishop Fulton Sheen said this half a century ago: “Just think, my dear ladies, of how many mentally disturbed women we are going to have in the United States in the next 10 or 15 years when the guilt of abortion begins to attack the mind and soul.”

One insight Pastor Knox taught is that women have brakes. Men don’t. We are the gatekeepers of sex. We must be willing to say, “No.” Don’t let it even begin! No making out. No spending time alone. Put a lot of boundaries in place with men. “It is good for a man to not touch a woman” (1 Corinthians 7:1). This is why the next verse tells us to marry! Wait for all of these good things until marriage. You will never regret it!

I’m thankful my mom told me when I was young that I would one day want to stand in front of the man I wanted to marry and tell him that I had saved myself for him. That’s all the sex talk she gave me, but it worked! I so badly wanted to marry and have children that this struck a deep chord within me. Both of us saved ourselves, and it’s a huge blessing in our marriage. We’ve never had a desire to commit adultery. Sexual purity is a safeguard for a committed marriage. You must teach this to your children early and often in this highly sexualized culture.

  1. I have a long laundry list of sins, but fornication is one of the top two that has affected me the most. Once I had sex, I felt “less than”. I felt like I could never be loved. So I just continued practicing fornication, because I thought, ” I have lost any chance of attracting a good man now, so I might as well keep doing it with the bad ones. The ones who don’t value me.” Once I had crossed that line, I never saw a future for myself where a man would want to hold my hand, or would bring me flowers, or who would want to court me. My husband, who is not a Christian, had been with many women before he met me. And even though I was not a Christian when I committed fornication, I still knew it was wrong. My conscience told me it was wrong, and yet I did it anyway. I didn’t become a Christian until my 40s, but I did my best to tell our three children that sex outside of marriage in wrong, and share with them why I feel that way. But my husband, not being a Christian, feels like young people should “explore their sexuality”, and should live together before marriage. All three are in college now, and are still virgins, and I pray that GOD continues to guide their paths.

  2. 1 Corinthians 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

The Old Testament is full of instruction to flee from evil in general.

“Fornication” is an English word from a Latin root that was made up by the church. A better translation of the Greek is “sexual immorality” a broad category of sins. The “Mother of Harlots” has done a lot to cloud the issue.

Whenever you have sex with someone God joins the two into one flesh.

1 Corinthians 6:16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.”

“One flesh” is God’s original definition of marriage.
Thus there is no such thing as “premarital” sex. All sex joins the two flesh into either a marital relationship or an adulterous relationship. The church truly can join nothing, yet they’re happy to pawn “former fornicators” off onto other people adulterously, and then praise that new adulterous relationship.

Back before the Roman church’s early-modern era commandeering of God’s natural institution of marriage, churches didn’t “perform weddings”. And our language still reflects the church’s earlier stance. The word “copulation” means “to couple”. It was formerly common knowledge and it remained “common law” that people in a sexual relationship or in a long term relationship which could naturally be presumed to include sex, are de facto married before the eyes of a Christian nation’s law.

The church today doesn’t exist to teach God’s ways, it exists to twist God’s religion and to institutionalize the new false teachings, and to keep you from discovering God’s original true ways. The more the Holy Spirit reveals to you the more you’ll see the churches are ALL apostate.

The church might call this a fornicating generation. But God is correct when He calls us an adulterous generation. There is hardly any topic where the church teaches more falsely than about women’s role, sex, and marriage. Satan knows that if he can get women to mess up, men will follow them into sin. That’s how sin started. There’s nothing new under the sun.
