Should We Support the Services of Women in the Workforce?
A woman emailed me and asked me these questions. They’re things I have been pondering lately.
“Is it wrong for Christians to watch movies? People kiss people who are not married in real life. Not to mention, those women most likely aren’t stay-at-home women. Are we partaking in adultery by watching movies (because of them kissing, etc)? And what about cooking shows on TV? I enjoy watching stuff like that, but those women are, again, not being stay-at-home moms and are instead on TV away from home. Are we partaking in/supporting their sin? He who laughs at sin is a fool and is guilty of that sin (paraphrased). I don’t want a ‘We aren’t responsible for what other people do’ answer. I want a real answer. We aren’t responsible for what other people do, but then again, YES WE ARE RESPONSIBLE by watching, partaking, and supporting, by the means of watching and enjoying those shows. Does God count these things as sin against us? Am I putting unnecessary burdens on myself, or do I seriously need to find other forms of entertainment? Either we believe what we preach, or we don’t. What about our children?
My husband, Ken, helped me with the response.
She brings up many good questions that should make us ponder. I know I wouldn’t want my husband kissing other women on a TV or movie set, or anywhere else! I am very careful about what I do watch, and do not want to see anything to do with nudity, bed scenes, and adultery. Our Christian homes are often filled with such things coming through the tube, and most Christians give very little thought to the effects of watching sin over and over again on TV. Each one of us must answer for ourselves what we as adults consume, but no matter what, protect the eyes and ears of our children.
Is watching a couple kiss on TV sin? No. If there is a film that is decent and shows women living good, decent lives, like “Seeking Persphone” (favorite movie ever!), should I not recommend it since the two main stars kiss? There was nothing besides a kiss: no swear words, nudity, adultery, or anything indecent. Some Christian families choose not to have a TV in their home. I do not think this to be an exaggerated response to the great amount of worldly indoctrination and sins found on TV. We have a TV in our home, and our conviction is to be choosy as to what we will watch. That is our freedom in Christ, at least until we are convicted by the Holy Spirit differently.
But the big question is: “Where does Christian liberty end and sin begin?” James 4:17 gives us a good part of the answer: “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” We can explain our own limits and ask others to ponder their limits, but liberty dictates that for things that are not specifically called sin in the Word, we must allow each Believer the freedom to choose their own way. That does not mean they are necessarily in God’s will, but it does mean they are covered by the blood of Christ. Our promised sanctification declares us holy in Christ Jesus and promises that God will grow us up into Christ to become more and more like Him. This means learning from His Word and allowing His Spirit to convict us of our sins, many of which we may not be fully aware of, or we have quenched the Spirit because we enjoy our sin and don’t want to give it up.
Is receiving services from a working woman sin? No! I go grocery shopping where there are female cashiers. I go to restaurants with female waitresses. I have flown on jets with female flight attendants. I go to a female gynecologist. Should I not go shopping, eat out, fly, or go to female doctors because many of them should be stay-at-home moms? It’s not my job to force women to obey God and His will for them.
Most CEOs and owners of supermarkets and restaurants are godless, with many supporting LGBT and abortion. Should we never buy their products? I do. This whole world lies in wickedness, but if someone is making a product I love, I will buy it. It’s not my job to make others holy and separate from the world.
We are in the World, but not to be part of this world? How is your life different? Jesus tells us in His prayer to the Father that “I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” (John 17:14-16). So we are in this world, yet not of this world. We are not to be under the influence of worldly things, but under the influence of the Holy Spirit who helps us walk in righteousness and truth. Unfortunately, too many Christians are more friendly to the world than they are to the Kingdom of God. Their lives look little different than the world except for a Church service. We are “set apart” (holy in Christ Jesus). We are to live this way, and others should see that we are different in our walk, talk, dress, and especially our love and service to others.
I teach women God’s Word that tells them to be keepers at home. And yes, that is different from the world. From there, it is up to them to live out their freedom in Christ as they choose. Not freedom to do whatever they like, and certainly not freedom to sin, but freedom to say “No!” to sin and “Yes!” to righteousness. Some women must work; some women are single or available to work without their families suffering, especially once the children leave the home. The rest need to decide how important it is to them, their family, and to God if they stay at home or go to work, often leaving their babies in the arms of strangers. And once they have made that choice, our job is to love them, pray for them, and teach them what God’s perfect will is, as mothers are the first in line for raising the next generation of godly offspring. It’s their choice, and they must live with the results, some of which will last an eternity. Our job is to speak the truth in love and to love all people, even those whose choices we may disagree with. This comes down to the conviction between a husband and a wife. Since he is the leader of the home, he should be the one who ultimately decides. This is between them and their God: right or wrong.
I love teaching biblical womanhood to women, and I am willing to teach it with great conviction both from the Word and experientially, with much of that experience doing things the wrong way before being convicted by the Spirit and the Word to repent and find God’s perfect will for my life. I love hearing the many stories of lives being changed just as mine was, where I came out from my blindness into the light of the glorious Word of God. I thought I was walking in freedom, but I was enslaved to the mind of this world until I discovered my new life in Christ Jesus. You have to want to be free to be able to walk in the freedom Christ gives us. Freedom to choose to walk in the Spirit of righteousness and not of this world. Not questioning every little thing you do in this world, but enjoying your freedom while asking the Lord to open your eyes and convict you of sin. Our focus should no longer be on sin, but on pleasing our Lord Jesus in the liberty bought with the price of His precious blood.

If we consider who controls television, and they even wrote a book about it, “An Empire of their Own,” by Neil Gabler, who is Jewish, I’m not sure why anyone would have a television in their home.
Also, if prostitutes ordinarily won’t even kiss, why would Christians watch paid actors do it?
It has been used to advance a Jewish agenda since it was invented.
If we objectively examine the facts of who owns the media, it soon becomes very clear it’s controlled by wicked people with wicked agendas.
If I’m wrong, I’d be happy to debate Ken in writing or on video on the facts involved.

Thank you, even though we strongly disagree on Zionist Trump, Israel, and on some other points, I’m not hostile, as I thought the exact same way as you just ten years ago. I too was a Trump supporter, though I saw his flaws, and I too thought the Jews could do no wrong, and that Christians should support Israel. And then I began to seriously research Israel and our Federal Reserve and a brand new picture emerged.
My husband and I are struggling. We rely on our pension, he is on an aged, I care for a family member. I have been offered a job working 10 hours a week. It would help tremendously. Hubby can’t work as he is simply worn out from years of hard physical work. It’s at our local supermarket. After much discussion, we have agreed for me to work. What are your thoughts?
This is a pretty solid answer. I think we need to keep in mind we are not called to judge them outside the body of Christ. Yet we are called to judge those who claim to be Christians. There is no way we can keep from having contact with unbelievers; actually we should have contact for we are called to be witnesses for Christ. As far as TV goes I do believe we invite evil into our homes and if we had someone over and used the language we hear on our TVs we would ask them to leave. This causes me to think about the things I watch. Actually, I started watching the new Lanterns from DC comics but quit after the second episode because of the language and the social justice lies they were pushing. I am of the opinion that the old adage about inviting Satan into our homes thru the TV is true. If we think about what actors’ jobs are? To make us believe a lie they are professional liars.

It’s your decision alone to make, Stacy. Just remember, a penny saved is a penny earned. When you consider how much you’ll actually bring home after taxes and all, it may be better to learn to live more simply and frugally. This is what I would want to do. I never want to be in the workforce again.
Hi Monte Cristo, this is Ken … We certainly agree that Hollywood and the media have been controlled in large part by those of Jewish descent, many of whom are not sincerely practicing Jews. God seems to have granted certain Jews a brilliance and drive that much of the rest of the world does not have, but there are many too who can match it. We see Satan behind the polluting of the world’s minds and the many evils that are taking America down. We also see Trump trying to restore America to decency and sound-mindedness in many ways. “The whole world lies in wickedness” (1 John 5:19) was said some 2000 years ago and it certainly is true today. If you were Satan, how would you go about destroying the goodness of God? Certainly, by using some of God’s own chosen people, the Jews, to be a part of that destruction, all the while God is going forward with a plan for the restoration of the Jews back to the land promised many times in the OT. We are watching God and Satan in a huge battle, with Satan desiring to set himself up as the “christ” of this world. And He will do so, with Israel playing a large part, until Jesus, the true Christ, returns to crush and defeat Him, and lock him up for a time of peace and prosperity for 1000 years. This story is available for all who will simply read it in God’s Word. It is nothing new. Our job is to be faithful, not frightened… loving, not hating… patiently waiting for the spiritual forces of darkness to be conquered and sent to a permanent Lake of Fire to burn for eternity.
