Strangers and Pilgrims in a Foreign Land

Recently, I published this tweet: “Whenever women talk about the great accomplishments women have made in this nation (always referring to the workforce), they never talk about the women at home who are raising the next generation of godly offspring. What can be more important than this?”

A man responded to this tweet with the following comment on my Gab account:

“Women cannot invent, can’t code, and don’t get along with technology. Dangerous, necessary jobs are male dominated and always have been. Women have had the vote for over a century, yet the 1900s are full of unceasing war and increasing moral decay.

“There are now more women than men in the workforce, more women than men getting college degrees, and more women than men voting. Less marriages, less family formation, less mothers, less housewives, and less children. These are regressive things and will result in our demise.

“Women, stop trying to be something you are not. You are not Men 2.0. You are women. You were created to be a helper to your husband and the mother of his children. In vain, and to your detriment, you prevaricate from your innate, God-given purpose. It’s not going well.”

We can’t expect anything good coming from fleeing God’s will for us, but I am so thankful that there will always be a remnant who love the Lord and His ways. We are strangers and pilgrims in a foreign land where Satan is the prince of the power of the air.

“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:11,12)

How are we to live in this foreign land? Trust and obey God. It’s that simple. He has plainly laid out His plan for us, women, and it’s beautiful. It builds up families and it builds up nations. All great nations are anchored by strong families. Once families crumble, nations crumble. We aren’t responsible for fixing culture. We are only responsible for the small plot of land we call home and the precious human beings within our walls. Yes, we are to love all those around us and in our sphere of influence, but our greatest influence will be in our homes and with our families. Always remember this.

Be feminine. Love God’s will for you. Love being women. Teach your daughters to love being females and the beautiful plan God has for their lives. Don’t allow the horror of our nation distract you from the role God has given to you nor steal your joy!

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:2-4
