Her Husband is Known in the Gates – Proverbs 31:23

“Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.” Proverbs 31:23

“Instead of being a hindrance to her husband’s advancement, she furthers it. Her influence for good extends to him also. Having no domestic anxieties, he is set free to do his part in public life.” (Ellicot’s Commentary)

Recently, the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance’s wife, told the press that her husband helps fifty-fifty with household chores and the children. Yes, he will be in charge of changing the new baby’s diapers. This is appalling! It’s a direct result of feminism and women wanting equality with men. God gave different roles and responsibilities to men and women for good reasons. My husband rarely changed a diaper. I didn’t expect this from him. I did the bulk of homemaking and childcare. He did all of the providing so I could be home, just where I wanted to be. This is how it’s supposed to be, women!

“The industry of the wife leaves the husband free to take his place among the elders that sit in councils.” (Barnes’ Notes Commentary)

The subject of women expecting men to help with the housework has torn many marriages apart and causes great anger among women. Either they don’t understand the stress and pressure their husbands have in the workforce, or they want to have a career too. God created us to be help meets for our husbands, not the other way around. Nothing good has come from feminism. Let’s go back to the Word of God and live according to His will for us since His ways are perfect!

“Such a woman advances her husband’s interests, increases his influence, and, by attending to his domestic concerns, enables him to take his share in public matters, so that his name is in great repute in the popular assemblies at the city gates (ver. 31; ch. 8:3). She is indeed ‘a crown to her husband’ (ch. 12:4).” (Pulpit Commentary)

Her husband was involved in politics. When the Suffragettes began their movement, most women were not interested in it at all. They were busy at home and didn’t want to concern themselves with politics. They had no desire to vote either. They wanted the men to handle all of this. They weren’t feminists. They appreciated men leading in the homes, churches, and nations. Now, many women are in politics, either in political positions of power or as political influencers on news casts and social media. They debate men in politics. This is what God has to say about it: “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people! They which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths” (Isaiah 3:12).

For your information, the Suffragettes became terrorists. This isn’t taught in the schools, but they used bombs, smashed thousands of windows in government buildings, and set buildings on fire to get their way. It wasn’t an innocent movement. It was a destructive one. Now, women overwhelmingly vote Democrat and for abortion. God didn’t create women to lead. He created us for the home and to nurture.

When women were home attending to their domestic concerns, marriages were strong, and divorce was rare. Crime was low, and children were being raised by full-time mothers. This is what made America great. It was built upon biblical values. In the old movies, all of the women dressed modestly and worked hard in their homes. They did what God called them to do, even if they didn’t believe in Him. His ways work for everyone. He is our Creator, and He knows best. Trust and obey Him, women.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jeremiah 6:16
