Avoid Foolish Questions

Avoid Foolish Questions

Written By Charles Spurgeon Our days are few, and are far better spent in doing good, than in disputing over matters which are, at best, of minor importance. The old schoolmen did a world of mischief by their incessant discussion of subjects of no practical importance; and our Churches suffer much from petty wars over abstruse points and unimportant questions. After everything has been said that can be said, neither party is any the wiser, and therefore the discussion no…

Sending Daughters to College to Find Husbands

Sending Daughters to College to Find Husbands

Today’s culture insists that young women go to college and pursue a career “just in case” and some parents send their daughters there to find a husband. I found Ken (well, he found me) at college, however, our Christian college only cost $3500 per year back then which included tuition, room, and board. My best friend even paid her own way by being a waitress in the summers and cleaning bathrooms during the school year. That same college costs$55,570 a…

Jail Time for Messy Housekeepers

Jail Time for Messy Housekeepers

If a husband doesn’t do his job like he’s supposed to, he will get fired. If a wife doesn’t do her job keeping the home clean and tidy and fixing nourishing meals for her family, she should go to jail. Just kidding! The entire family suffers, however. Some women today even like to brag about their messy homes. There is no shame about it. They don’t think having a clean and tidy home is nearly as important as all the…

Forced to Live on One Income

Forced to Live on One Income

Many Christian wives and mothers would love to come home full-time and take care of their families, but they don’t think they can afford it. Let me ask you a few questions. Do you believe God owns everything? Does He give us everything we need to obey what He commands of us? If you answered “yes” to both of these questions, you can come home and trust Him to provide for you if your husband agrees to it. Here is…

Please Don’t Fall Into the Nebuchadnezzar Syndrome

Please Don’t Fall Into the Nebuchadnezzar Syndrome

Those of you who have read my blog for a long probably remember the postwritten two years ago about the “Christian” woman and famous blogger, Glennon Doyle Melton, who did this after her pastor preached a great sermon: After he finished, I stood up in my pew and clapped and cheered and WOOT WOOTED and pumped my fists and well, my church is not that kind of church. And so Craig {her husband} said, “SIT DOWN HONEY. HONEY, sit down.”…

Why Do I Hate Women So Much – A Woman Asks

Why Do I Hate Women So Much – A Woman Asks

“Why do you hate women so much? Why do you hate that women now are allowed to be intelligent and get an education? Why do you hate that women can have jobs and earn their own money? Why do you hate that women are allowed to contribute to society? Why do you despise yourself so much that you must belittle every other woman? Is it because you see other women living the lives they want and envy their happiness? You…

Walk Ye in Him

Walk Ye in Him

Comments 1 comment

Written by Charles Spurgeon If we have received Christ himself in our inmost hearts, our new life will manifest its intimate acquaintance with him by a walk of faith in him. Walking implies action. Our religion is not to be confined to our closet; we must carry out into practical effect that which we believe. If a man walks in Christ, then he so acts as Christ would act; for Christ being in him, his hope, his love, his joy,…

Husbands Love Cheerful Wives

Husbands Love Cheerful Wives

Cheerfulness is what draws a man to a woman more than anything else according to studies that have asked men all over the world. Life is too short to make anyone’s life miserable, especially your husband’s! “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine” (Proverbs 17:22). God has commanded that we be thankful and joyful. How do we learn to become joyful? Become transformed by renewing your mind with the Truth of God’s Word. “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and…

Female Christian Leaders Making Holy Mischief

Female Christian Leaders Making Holy Mischief

“Even women who have been in ministry for years are making ‘holy mischief” and claiming space in male-dominated conservative evangelicalism, engaging Scripture and politics and other topics outside of traditionally ‘safe’ subjects like home and family.” And look at the results: marriages are stronger, women are submissive and respect their husbands, mothers are home raising their children, and dressing modestly. Not. Teaching “home and family” are not that safe in today’s feminist culture as this article states. What many of…

The Shame of Public Nakedness

The Shame of Public Nakedness

Written by Kenneth Wieske A woman walked into my study a few days ago. She was nearly naked, wearing only a bra and panties. There is just one woman in the world who, while dressed like this, can be around me: my wife. But the woman who walked into my study a few days ago was not my wife. I was very embarrassed. She, however, was not embarrassed at all. Let’s call her: “Shameless.” The reason Shameless was not embarrassed…
