Are You Living in a Cult?

Are You Living in a Cult?

Many are accusing the Duggars of living in a cult. I have a pamphlet that was published by Moody Publishers. It is called “Comparing Christianity with the Cults.” The cults they name are Christian Science, Spiritualism, Jehovah’s Witness, Scientology, Mormonism, Eastern Mystic Religions, Unification Church, Unity, and Wicca. I couldn’t find Gothard being a cult in this pamphlet or meeting the requirements needed to be labeled a cult. There are many families outside of following Gothard who homeschool their children,…

Husbands are Not Commanded to Meet Their Wives’ Emotional Needs

Husbands are Not Commanded to Meet Their Wives’ Emotional Needs

The Bible tells us that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. They are to provide for and protect their wives. They are to not withhold sexual intimacy from them. They are to treat them as the weaker vessel. However, the Bible doesn’t say that husbands must meet their wives’ emotional needs and love their wives with the “love language” their wives demand. This is extra-biblical nonsense that is destroying marriages. I received an email recently…

Best Sermon on Biblical Womanhood EVER!!!

Best Sermon on Biblical Womanhood EVER!!!

Preached By G. Craige Lewis of EX Ministries. It’s the BEST sermon on biblical womanhood I have ever heard. “When the Bible tells the older women to teach, it doesn’t tell them to teach the Word. No, that’s my job. I’m doing that! It’s not biblical for women to gather and have other women teach you the Word. Every time that happens, we lose folks to it. The Bible tells older women exactly what to teach other women! How to…

The Curse of Emotional Needs

The Curse of Emotional Needs

Recently, I have been trying to convince women of the destruction of the phrase “emotional needs” in marriage. Women go into marriage believing that their husbands are to meet all of their emotional needs which are intangible. This is an impossibility for husbands and has led to many women divorcing their husbands. They falsely believe their husbands are to meet their emotional needs, love them with their love language, and make them happy, and if they don’t, they’re out. This…

Men, Marry Virgins Since the Risk of Divorce Plummets

Men, Marry Virgins Since the Risk of Divorce Plummets

“Wolfinger found a strong correlation among the three cohorts: women who married as virgins had the lowest divorce rates by far. In the 1980s, 11 percent of virgin marriages (on the women’s part) ended in divorce within five years. This decreased to eight percent in the 1990s, and then fell again to six percent in the 2000s. Similarly, women with the second lowest five-year divorce rates are those who had only one partner prior to marriage.” (source) A woman who…

What Does NOT Depriving One’s Husband Entail?

What Does NOT Depriving One’s Husband Entail?

Recently, Mountain Housewife tweeted this which caused quite a controversy. “Dear married ladies, your approach to sex should be ‘whatever, whenever, and wherever.’ Then watch your marriage and life thrive.” I then responded to her tweet on my timeline: “Do you agree with her? I love her and she gives great marital advice but I would never give this advice since some men enjoy sex that can be harmful (anal sex, for instance). Some young mothers could never fulfill the…

His Authority Over You

His Authority Over You

Many in the churches have watered down a husband’s authority over their wife. It’s too offensive to many, therefore, the solution is to call it complementarianism, have the husband called to “lead and serve” his wife, and do away with Patriarchy altogether. What does God have to say about this? “Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and…

Embrace a Covenant Driven Marriage, Not a Feelings Driven One

Embrace a Covenant Driven Marriage, Not a Feelings Driven One

Written By Owen Strachan One of the most disastrous ideas we face is this: love is a feeling. Survey says: nope. You may well feel powerful positive emotions toward your spouse. I hope you do! But love in biblical terms NEVER reduces to feelings. True marital love is a commitment; it’s a covenant borne of the gospel of Christ. Here are some truths about your feelings and your marriage, friend: –You could EASILY feel drawn to folks who aren’t your…

Is It Okay For a Wife to Divorce an Abusive Spouse?

Is It Okay For a Wife to Divorce an Abusive Spouse?

Written by David J. Stewart Jesus plainly taught that divorce only happens… “because of the hardness of your hearts” (Matthew 19:8). No! Leave if you must, but divorce is wrong. Marriage is a lifetime covenant. I received the following e-mail from a woman who left her husband. In a subsequent e-mail, she confirmed that she had divorced him… “I saw your website. I have a question. I am divorced. My husband and I are both saved. I have been saved…

How Can Women Avoid Eve’s Sin?

How Can Women Avoid Eve’s Sin?

Written By Laurenlou There is one passage of Scripture I have always wondered about and have never been able to fully understand or explain. “Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety” (1 Timothy 2:15). You read that passage and you’re like what? Women saved through child bearing? There was a story of one tribe who believed this meant literal salvation so the women were encouraged to bear as many…
