“Oh, be careful, little eyes, what you see. Be careful, little eyes, what you see. There’s a Father up above looking down on you with love, so be careful, little eyes, what you see.” This is a song that I learned as a child. I sang it yesterday while I was walking with my grandchildren. It reminded me that all of God’s commands to us are due to His great love for us. Sin hurts us, and Satan wants to…
This post was written by Tim Keller in response to my post about female preachers. Men are designed by the Lord to fight for women, not with them. Most of the time, when wives have an argument with their husband, the husband shuts down. This is a part of how the Lord programmed the male mind to help de-escalate the conflict and control his emotions. Invariably, the wife misinterprets his silence as unloving, but the opposite is usually true. As…
“We women are the answer to virtually everything that ails society” (Jen Hatmaker). Jen may just be right about this! If women would stop having their babies slaughtered in their wombs, life would once again be valued, and women would understand that it’s not about “my body, my choice” but about another human life’s well-being. If women stopped initiating up to 80 percent of divorces, then marriages would be stronger, and children would be raised in homes with mothers and…
This was written by a man on an Instagram post of mine about women going to war and the sexual harassment and assault that females are having to endure. The woman who wrote the Instagram post that I shared begged mothers not to allow their daughters to go into the army because they “cannot be protected.” The battlefield is no place for a woman. This is not my opinion; this is morality. God wants women to be keepers at home…
As I have grown older, my convictions have grown stronger. When I was younger, I still had some strong convictions. I didn’t want my children to celebrate Halloween. I never trusted yoga as being something I could be involved with. I didn’t allow my children to read Harry Potter. I was careful about which TV shows and movies they watched. I have always taken the command from God to be separate and holy seriously, but my convictions have grown with…
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Amelia Barr was a mother, widow, and writer. She lived from 1831 to 1919. Amelia wrote a piece called Discontented Women. It’s not an easy piece to read since it was written long ago, but it’s well worth reading. I am sharing some excerpts about what Amelia thought about the Suffrage movement, women in public office, and where she thought it would lead. She was a wise woman with a lot of insight. She knew the female nature and that…
A supposedly “Christian” woman wrote this on Twitter recently: “Since conservative Christians keep coming at me. Here: “I am a Christian, and I believe proselytizing is violence against another. I am a Christian, and I believe LGBTQ+ ppl are divine and should lead us. I am a Christian, and I learn a lot from ppl who do not share my faith. “I am a Christian, and I don’t go to church. I am a Christian, and I don’t believe the…
Should pastors be preaching on current events? I think so. It’s good for Christians to know how to respond to evil happening around them. They need to be continually reminded of God’s Word and will for us. John MacArthur is a pastor who is doing this. Since the lockdown, we have been listening to him. This past week, he preached a sermon called How Should Christians Respond to the Riots? And like the previous week, it was an excellent sermon….
These were God’s instruction to His people after they had been carried away from Jerusalem into Babylon and were captives: “Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished” (Jeremiah 29:5,6). We are captives in a strange…
